Tabu born on 4th November 1970 as Tbassum Hashmi in Hyderaba
d. Her father Jamal Hashmi and mother Rizwana. Soon after, her parents divorced. Her mother was a school teacher and maternal grandparents were retired professor who ran a school. Her grandfather, Mohammed Ahsan was a profession of Mathematics and her grandmother was a professor of English Literature. She went to St.Anns high school in Hyderabad. Tabu moved to Mumbai in 1983 and studied at St.Xavier's College for two years.
Tabu began her career in the film Hum Jaujawan in the year 1985 at the age of fifteen. She played Dev Anand's daughter role in the film. Her first role as an actress was in the film Coolie No.1 in Telugu in the year 1987.
Tabu's career in the Film Industry is a long journey of 14 years.
